How Points Rummy Works

Points rummy stands out as an engaging and thrilling variant perfect for players who don't have a lot of time. Each game involves a single deal, with players being dealt 13 cards.

At the start of every game, one card is randomly selected as the wild card joker. Players take turns drawing cards from the closed or open deck and discarding to organize cards into sets and sequences.

Deals Rummy - Fixed Rounds Format

How It Works

All players start with equal chips and play for a predetermined number of deals. The player with the most chips at the end of all deals wins.

Game Options:

  • • Express Deal: 1 round (quickest)
  • • 2-Player Game: 2 deals minimum
  • • 6-Player Game: 3 deals minimum

Drop Penalties (6-player):

  • • First Drop: 20 points
  • • Middle Drop: 40 points
  • • Invalid Declaration: 80 points

Example Calculation

6-Player, 2-Deal Game:

Deal 1 - Others lose by:

22, 52, 34, 26, 38 points

Winner gets: 22+52+34+26+38 = 172 chips

Starting chips: 240

After winning Deal 1: 240 + 172 = 412 chips

Game continues for remaining deals. Player with most chips wins the prize pool.
